Which One Would You Choose?
Northworks Architects has time after time proven their exceptional creativity and design prowess with superb project followed by superb-er project, and I think it’s fair to say, their designs are one of a kind. The firm is based out of Chicago, though their projects expand further out, and their expertise includes remodeling, interior design, construction supervision, and obviously designing new custom homes. As you’ll see from these four projects we’re presenting to you today, common threads include attention to detail, quality, and elegant simplicity. Set on a hillside slope in northern Colorado with inspiring views of the Rocky Mountains, this efficient, 800 sq.ft. cabin was designed as a weekend retreat. The main floor consists of two bedrooms, one full bath, and a small kitchen open to a living room. The loft level provides additional beds, built into the dormers for natural light and ventilation. The porch wraps around the entire living space and is completely covered by an extended roofline.
This 350 square-foot vacation home annex accommodates a kitchen, sleeping/living room and full bath. The simple geometry of the structure allows for minimal detailing and excellent economy of construction costs. The interior is clad with reclaimed pine and the kitchen is finished with polished stainless steel for ease of maintenance.
