5 CABINS, 1 BEAUTIFUL HOME

United or Divided, This Home Will Not Fail To Impress You

This home can either stand as one large home or it can be enjoyed as several smaller homes. The Craggy Cabin in Catskills, New York is a modular home that consists of 5 small cabins that can be combined to form a large home that can comfortably house a large family.

Each small cabin has multiple sliding doors which connect to the other cabins; these doors can be closed to separate each cabin from each other so the cabins can be used as smaller homes which in turn may have the potential to be used for renting out to guests while still maintaining a comfortable level of privacy. The Craggy Cabin’s design is inspired by its natural environment, hence its heavy use of wood materials which can also be seen in its choice of furniture; large windows allow for sunlight to brighten and warm the interior to complete its rustic atmosphere.

“In the same way space oscillates between a contemporary, open-plan and traditional, closed-format interior, the materials and textures chosen for the finishes and furniture intentionally juxtapose the old against the new; the rough against the smooth; the comfortable against the austere.”
