FEEL INSPIRED AS YOU STEP INSIDE THIS CREATIVE CONTEMPORARY HOUSE DESIGN
The Oak Refuge is half art and half home. It features both contemporary and traditional designs merged into one home. The home is distributed into five interconnected modules. All of which meet at the central public space which is then divided by two huge sliding doors.
The home has many large glass windows and glass walls and some skylights. All of which provide plenty of natural light to the interior. The many windows also take advantage of the beautiful outside scenery. The general design plan for the home is that of a modernized cabin. The contemporary touch given to a traditional design creates a unique blend of the old and the new. The result is a home that feels just as cozy and charming as a traditional log cabin. Yet, it still has the familiarity of our modern lifestyle.
The Oak Refuge is an architecture interior and decoration project. The cabin attempts to harmonize the rural atmosphere, genius loci, architecture and interior all together as one “total artwork”; thus allowing the inhabitants to be truly immersed within a carefully designed emotive and enriching space, following the Gesamtkunstwerk principles of the early 1900s Austrian collective, the Wiener Werkstätte and later inspirations like the Bauhaus movement.
