The Ref-Ring is designed for a couple and two children in the Kanagawa Prefecture. For this project, they experimented with the structural and environmental functions of wood. The house is composed of two intersecting wooden ‘rings’, giving it a unique look and spatial configuration. The wooden surfaces are intentionally left unfinished to really bring out the natural scent and texture of the materials, ingeniously serving as humidity control as well.
