A Crazy Sight In the Midst of Nature

Seeking refuge into nature is the way to go when you just want to breathe in some some fresh air and unwind in the mountains or forests.  This amazing little geodesic dome structure that crowns the top of this house in the Chichibu mountains (in Japan) allows plenty of light to get in during the day and enables you to easily gaze at the sky full of stars at night.  Check out the photo gallery!

Looking for a place in nature to find inspiration, Japanese outdoor clothing designer Setsumasa Kobayashi …. commissioned architect Shin Ohori of General Design Co. to build him a “platform for living” out in the Chichibu mountains. Conceived as a ‘non-house’ where the inhabitants could sleep in tents on the rooftop, it’s now been outfitted with a more permanent geodesic dome structure, allowing Kobayashi and guests to sleep sheltered and stargaze under a night sky. The interior is fitted with a neat climbing wall, and feels rustic yet comfortable at the same time. A woodstove heats the living area, supplied by a large stockpile of hand-chopped wood, while the bathroom sports an old clawfoot tub.
