Her Empty Nest Solution

She Might Inspire You to Build Your Own Too!

We all have that one sentimental project that just eventually becomes a part of us. For a certain woman by the name of MJ Boyle, it’s the tiny wooden abode she built for herself over the span of about 15 months. What makes it meaningful for this mother-of-two is that it has been her dream ever since she was 12. The house, which she named “My Tiny House”, was her source of comfort after her kids moved out and she was left with the feeling of empty nest syndrome. Everything inside the little abode, from the lampshades to the curtains, has been decorated by MJ herself. Now that her kids are on their own and doing their own thing, she can finally live her dream, which is of course, in her dream home. Check out more of her wonderful creation through these photos and let us know what you think on our Facebook page!

My interest in all-things-tiny-and-old started at 12 years old when I became fascinated with a tiny abandoned farm house near my parent’s home…and I’ve been sketching floor plans ever since. My Tiny House, aptly named “My Empty Nest,” is the culmination of a life spent dreaming of a tiny reclaimed space, all my own.
