A Panoramic View of The Ocean and Cliffs
Directly built into the earth, the house conceals itself almost perfectly inside the cliff. Designed by Architects Felipe Wedeles, Jorge Manieu, Macarena Rabat of WMR Arquitectos, the Till House is a hidden haven in El Arco, Chile. This design was intended to minimize any disturbance to the natural landscape and skyline.
Measuring an area of 185 sq meters, the home is a simple build with locally sourced timber, materials, and labor. The house has projections that make the beams and columns visible. With an open floor plan, the interiors give a bigger sense of space with white walls and ceilings, accented by the wooden flooring.
The interiors are composed of two bedrooms, a living area, dining room, and a kitchen in the center. The two bedrooms can be placed on either side of the common area, with sliding doors separating the two for more privacy. The south side of the house has a small wooden jacuzzi heated by firewood installed.
The wide outdoor terrace extends to the west, north, and southern sides. The house surrounds itself with full-height glazing wraps for a panoramic view of the ocean and the surrounding cliffs. Take a look through these photos and tell us what you think on our Facebook Page!
