. . . With Lots of Surprises Inside!
Contemporary architectural design is so straightforward and unpretentious in its use of lines, shapes, colors and materials that it becomes a perfect foil – or contrast – to another style combined with it. In other words, the two styles complement each other. More often the combination results in a design that’s unique, refreshing and at times totally unexpected, but nonetheless strikingly beautiful. Just take a look at the house of Armin Blasbichler situated in Tyrol, Italy. It’s a delightfully staggering, quite outlandish, yet visually exciting structure that’s so individualistic from its facade and front door, right up into its interiors that continue to surprise – which you’ll discover as you go through the photos below. And don’t forget to tell us what you think on our Facebook Page!
We love the two extremes of this unusual log home in Northern Italy. On one hand, it looks like a carefully arranged pile of logs, while on the other hand a modern, glazed cube cuts out from the stack, revealing a hidden home. Located in South Tyrol, this rustic house design takes the concept of a “log home” to a literal level. The home is designed and lived in by Armin Blasbichler, who from childhood always thought to design a house inspired by . . . the log stacks stockpiled in local fields. What we have here is a house that blends almost entirely into its surroundings. But step inside and you’re in for a surprise or two!
