. . . Like Writing, Painting . . .
If you’re looking for an opportunity to experience (and savor) life on a farm, then consider taking a retreat to the Huxley Cabin nestled in the middle of an organic goji farm in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in San Cristobal, New Mexico. The location is actually surrounded by a national forest, so there are mountain views and lots of colorful landscapes to enjoy and be inspired by. The cabin is cozy and yet spacious with an open-plan layout ideal for family gatherings and activities, while the bedrooms are comfortable and provide privacy. With such a magnificent view of nature outside, it’s a place perfect for artistic and quite cerebral pursuits like painting and writing, as well as relaxation and just pottering around. As some of you might have guessed, the cabin is named Huxley in honor of its famous former resident-writer, Aldous Huxley. Another equally well-known writer who stayed and wrote here was D.H. Lawrence, another proof that indeed this cabin is truly an inspirational place for artistic and intellectual pursuits. Now take a look at these photos and tell us what you think on our Facebook Page!
Part of an eco-lodge, the cottage has a wood fire stove, queen bed and a queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully-equipped with pots, pans, stove, fridge, freezer, micro[wave] oven. The cabin sleeps 3-4.
This is a great space to kick back in, write, paint or take walks, fish or go skiing. It is close to hiking and fishing and there is a play ground outside. Our cabins are close to natural hot springs and the Hondo river that is swimmable in the summer.
