Modest Home with a Tiny Footprint

“Simplicity and Restraint are the Innovation”

This linear home takes the simple form of a rectangular box and is built simply with wooden structure, concrete floors and weathering steel cladding. With Denver Valley on one side, and the gorgeous Flatiron peaks on the other; windows dividing the storage shelves on the eastside provide intermittent views of the entry court and city in the backdrop, while full sliding windows on the eastside provide unobstructed views of the mountain peaks. The 2,500 sq.ft home sits atop a precipice on a 35-acre property. Its footprint is kept small to minimize energy use and material waste. Surrounding vegetation were carefully conserved throughout its construction.

Dynia Architects received an Award of Merit from the Wyoming Chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 2009 for Boulder Cabin.
