THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A CREATIVE WAY TO USE ANY MATERIAL
Wooden pallets have never really been the first choice when it comes to designing a home, but an architect decided to make use of this unlikely material in a way that’s both environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing.
The featured home we have here has been clad with recycled wood from wooden pallets as its shutters which give off a wonderful contrast to the overall color scheme of the house. It doesn’t stop at the visuals, the pallet shutters act as screens which control the amount of light that enters the home and it also provides a level of privacy; this gives the design of the pallets a functional purpose. Making use of recycled materials is also one way to save money when it comes to building a house, and it’s also an eco-friendly use of resources.
So next time you’re designing a home, try looking around for some reusable materials for your house, we’re sure you’ll be able to come up with some new creative way to incorporate that material to your signature design.
“The house is clad in a module of wood shipping pallets, creating a screening, and light-filtering element for the interior spaces and front porch,” said the architects.
“Operable panels of the screen allow for customization of privacy on the master bedroom deck, giving a dynamic appearance to the street facing facade.”
