A Much Needed Extension For The Typical Window

People living in small dark apartments with little source for light can understand what it’s like to feel slightly deficient in Vitamin D, am I right folks?  Well, good news for you poor pasty souls… Argentinian Architect Aldana Ferrer Garcia has created an extending window concept that allows you to sunbath in your room.

The Brooklyn-based architect and artist created “More Sky,” an innovative window that can increase an apartment’s access to sunlight and fresh air without major renovations. The timber-and-glass window protrudes from the building wall to create a cozy nook where you can lean back and soak in the sun. he began her design process by studying popular window types and exploring how she could modify the systems to increase access to sunlight and provide seating. Her final proposal includes three “More Sky” product designs that adapt to existing frames for a hopper window, casement window, and awning window.
