An Old Mining Town Finds New Life
Buried in rural and rocky Colorado, Dunton Hot Springs is an ideal resort surrounded by lovely mountains. Previously a spot known for mining, the place is now a major tourist attraction for antiques and relaxing vacations in the deluxe rustic cabins. And if this doesn’t already sound appealing in text, then definitely spend some time looking through this photo gallery of five of their most adorable little cabins…. Enjoy!
Just across the mountain from Telluride, Dunton Hot Springs Resort is a romantic ghost town, set in an extraordinary alpine valley. Our resorts offer a variety of day and overnight packages, and the entire town or ranch can be rented exclusively for corporate retreats, family reunions and weddings. This perfectly restored ghost town thrives on contradictions; hand- hewn log cabins exquisitely furnished, a life-worn saloon serving food of startling quality, lung torturing trails followed by pampering massages, sensuous hot springs beneath shimmering snow banks. Free of cell phones, this romantic old mining town still provides high speed wireless internet access in every cabin and video conferencing in our dance hall to the comforting sound of a tumbling waterfall.
Well House Cabin
Dunton’s only cabin built around a small, on demand hot spring, along with beautiful views of the mountains and a fireplace to boot!
Three bedrooms and a living room make this the perfect cabin for a family. Tipping cabin was moved from Parachute, another mining community in Colorado. It’s close to the Saloon and Bath House, overlooking the river.
