The Perfect Blend of Modern and Rustic

Former home of 1959 Miss America Mary-Anne Mobley, the house was first built in 1948 but had lost its glamour over the years. LA based design firm gave it a much needed modern makeover and the result is simply stunning.

The house is bathed in sunlight all day long with tree branches casting shadows and providing greenery through every window. Visitors enter a dramatic double-height entryway with ash wood paneling, flooded with light from a skylight above.

While modern elements were introduced, some replacing the old, like the new steel and glass staircase; Simo retained as much of the old house as possible, like the original brick floor in the mudroom, the existing fireplace in living area and the patio courtyard. The old fused in immaculately with the sleek new furnishings and cabinetry, relishing the modern home with a sense of history and rusticity.
