“Beautifying the World – One Backyard at a Time”

Victor Summers is the creative mind behind Simple Shelters, specialists in building custom garden structures. Based in Spring Branch, Texas, Victor builds an assortment of projects such as sheds, cabins, gazebos, and tree houses to name a few. Designed to minimize waste and keep material costs low, he uses recycled materials in his carefully planned and skillfully crafted projects.

His cabins are treated like art projects, unique designs with a lot of charm and character and typically remote, running without electricity and plumbing. If you’d wish to run utilities however, other green options such as solar power and composting toilets are easily added to the structure. The first cabin is built from recycled fences and old structures, and runs the well pump and lights with electricity from solar panels. The second is a sleeping cabin, made from reclaimed fences with the architecture inspired by the Shinto temples in Japan. The last is a bird viewing blind that could also be a cabin, featuring wooden materials and large glass panels in the front for a good view and a lot of natural light.
