A Simple Way To Distress Your Furniture

It’s Unimaginably Easy

To get an antique look to your furniture, try a distressed finish, using this secret food ingredient.  Can you guess it?  YES. Vinegar.  Check out the easy to do instructions below, and then give it a try!  Remember vintage, antique, and worn-down pieces of furniture have a certain charm that new furniture often does not.

I was recently contacted by Heirloom Traditions to try there new line of paints. I just cleaned this piece off with a damp rag and started painting. This took two coats, the first coat was just a little streaky. After painting this piece I started to distress it. I pick up bags of old cut up t-shirts at the thrift shop for 1.00. Then grab a water bottle filled with Vinegar and water solution. Now start to rub the paint off with the rag, keep spraying the vinegar water mix on as needed.

That’s how I distress my furniture.
