Immerse Yourself In The Beauty Of This Nature-Inspired Home
Fit in with nature in this beautiful home which seemingly blends flawlessly with the natural surrounds. The Casa de la Roca located somewhere in the middle of a lush forest north of Mexico City is the epitome of merging modern architecture with its natural surroundings.
Its distinct shape and design allow for maximum exposure to the forest landscape; it has three long “arms” with each outward end with viewing decks allow for multiple vantage points when admiring the forest scenery. These “arms” then converge into a central and rather open room where one can still admire the outside views due to the floor-to-ceiling windows. Truly an example of great inspired design!
The design strategy is developed to a large degree through the project’s materiality, where, on the one hand, the architects had to make decisions based on maintenance, structure and thermal behavior, and, on the other hand, consider the visual weight ‘that architecture must have in landscapes as recondite as the one the house occupies’.
