TRADITIONAL OPEN-PLAN CABIN WITH A CONTEMPORARY SURPRISE

COZINESS, CONVENIENCE, AND SECURITY IN ONE? THIS MOUNTAIN CABIN HAS IT ALL

This small, yet welcoming and alluring mountain cabin has been grabbing the attention of many since its construction, way back 2009. Built in South Tyrol, Italy at an elevation of 1400 meters, the project was completed by EM2 Architekten and was named the Jagdhaus Tamers.

The cabin features a wooden wall that can be opened up to reveal a glass partition, which enables the owners to take in the great views and to admire the wildlife. This also allows them to completely wrapped the cabin with wood when they’re going away or it’s particularly cold outside to minimize heat loss. Additionally, every window of the cabin is made not wider than a wood plank for security purposes

Apart from the cabin, there’s also an adjacent studio, which makes the total floor area approximately 1,399 square feet.

“The kitchen is small but practical. The built-in furniture and the slim but operable window give it an open look. The black counter tops provide a strong and elegant contrast when combined with the wood found everywhere around them.”
