Escape into this Y-shaped House

This uniquely shaped residential home is name the ‘Y House’. A collaborative effort of architecture firms MVRDV and KAI Architects, alongside Envision Engineering Consultants, bring about this Y-shaped home located in Tainan, Taiwan. This experimental design lends for some interesting features and ideas to be realized.

The concrete walls of the exterior are punched full of circular glass windows proving a view and showering the interiors with natural light. Simple white fences and bamboo surround the perimeter, providing some shade and privacy. A grass lawn greets you in front, and stepping stones lead you through a pond into the front door of the house.

The lower levels are composed of four bedrooms; a master, a guest room, and two kids’ rooms. The ground level has a garden tea room. Here, you can receive and entertain guests while relaxing over a nice cup of tea. The stairs lead up to other common areas. At the top of the Y House, you’ll find a swimming pool and an outdoor space perfect for sunbathing, entertaining, and lounging around. The Y House is truly a unique and interesting piece of architecture. Relax, unwind, and escape the city into this beautiful and quirky home. Take a look through these photos and tell us what you think on our Facebook Page!
