Need to get rid of a wood dent?
In ‘Cabin-Life’, sometimes dents and dings can be beautiful and part of the design scheme, especially if it’s the old vintage look we’re going for. But other times, an accidental dent in an otherwise flawless piece of wood can stand out like a sore thumb, and make something nice and new look old and damaged. There are lots of methods for removing dents that require expensive products, etc. But here’s a technique that’s both affordable and effective. Check it out below!
After moving some furniture, I inevitably damaged some of it by dropping a heavy tool on it. I’m going to show you the technique I used to fix it and remove the dent without using wood filler. This technique works great for wood floors and dining room tables, too.
Step 1: What you’ll need
Materials you needed: Iron, Towel and Water
Step 2: Steam the wood
Put water on the affected area. After that cover it with towel. Now use your iron on its highest setting and move it back and forth in circle motion. Continue by adding water until the dents rise up.
Step 3: Sand smooth
For finishing touches use sandpaper. That’s it!
