A HOME THAT SOOTHES THE BODY AND MIND

BREATHE IN THE FRESH AIR AND ADMIRE NATURE’S BEAUTY
Have you ever wondered how a serene nature retreat home would look? The New Zealand-based firm Copeland Associates might give you a clear idea with their prefab timber cabin. They designed this art studio with the idea of creating a space where your creativity can flow freely away from the stressful and suffocating urban environment.
The home is made of prefabricated CLT panels and is elevated by a grid of timber piles which reduces the house’s footprint on the landscape. Enjoy the fresh air on the open air deck, or admire the beautiful lush scenery of Taihape, New Zealand right in the comforts of the living room through a large window.
To get a feel for the natural setting, as well as to study the sun’s movements, the architects camped out on location before creating their cabin design. According to the architects, living on site for a few days inspired them to create a nature-inspired retreat that would be used as a peaceful art studio, as well as a base to explore the expansive landscape.
