The Pond Home is a family retreat in Philipsport, New York. It’s a great home for anyone looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Here you’ll be surrounded by acres of lush forests. There’s a glass wall on one end f the home which gives you a great view of the beautiful pond.
The cabin features a simple design which focuses on functionality. This frees you from the usual confines of an average home and encourages you to reconnect with the outside world. The location also gives you access to nearby outdoor recreational activities such as hiking and skiing. The Pond House is available for rent at $200 per night, with holiday rates requiring a minimum of 3 nights stay. It can accommodate up to 7 guests.
Materials further anchor the house in place. All the exterior materials—most notably blackened cedar wood, exposed concrete, and corten steel—are designed to heavily patina, requiring minimal maintenance and allowing the structure to evolve over time. Inside, the dining table, benches, and several headboards and interior shelves were created with wood from a sugar maple that was cut on-site and milled locally.
