A SHELTER STRAIGHT OUT OF A POST-APOCALYPTIC SETTING

Looking For That Ruff ‘n Gruff Feel of Off-Grid Living? This Place Has Got You Covered
Nothing says off-grid living like living in the middle of a desert with nothing but the sun as your source of power. There’s an outpost of small cabins in the Mojave Desert in California that just feels like you just stepped right into one of those post-apocalyptic movies, only this time you don’t have to worry about surviving.
Inside the 460-square foot cabin guests are treated to an array of modern amenities to keep them well supplied and entertained during they stay in the desert outpost; all appliances are powered by the large ‘solar tree’ standing next to the cabin. A loft sleeping area provides a nice cozy place to sleep and allows for more living space in the small cabin. There is Wi-Fi available, but guests have the option to completely be disconnected from the world and just take in the beautiful landscapes.
Amid the stark terrain, Alqadi conceived a modern-day folly with a purpose. “It’s about allowing people to experience sustainability,” he explains. “I added amenities and technologies, like Wi-Fi, to stay connected, but you have the option to completely disconnect and enjoy nature.”
