AN A-FRAME HOUSE CAN BE PRACTICAL TOO!

Just check out the Hara House in Japan
Modern home designs tend to lean more towards boxy or cubed aesthetics. But there’s something about A-Frame homes that give a sense of practicality while maintaining less footprint and encouraging more family bonding. Just take a look at the Hara House located at Nigata, Japan.
This A-Frame home makes use of timber and builds on a minimalist design. The home acts like a huge tent which means less storage and partitions and more space for gathering and lounging. The home has complete amenities including two bedrooms and a workstation. Being an A-Frame, it also has more floor area and volume than a regular cubed home making it more spacious.
The Hara House is part of a series of structures that have distinct purposes such as a parents’ home and a storage area. The architect’s goal is to “create a way of life that is never complete within just this one structure, but rather forms a piece of the greater architecture.”
They are incredibly efficient, easy to build. Roofing is the cheapest material in a house and they are mostly roofing.
