Rough and Tough While Also Cozy and Chic
Black shed is a modern black-colored cabin designed by Rural Design in Isle of Skye, Scotland. It’s simple and rustic, yet contemporary in its interior and furnishings, and while it may appear rough and tough from the outside (appropriate for the location), the inside is quite welcoming. This might be called a shed, but is most definitely not your common or bottom-of-the-garden variety. It sits on the side of a remote hill, and outside, free-range chickens and Hebridean sheep strut their stuff under a vast sky with Loch Dunvegan shimmering below and Macleod’s Table rising to the south. Airy interiors have a chic uncluttered simplicity, made up of pine-clad walls, textured concrete floors and big windows to frame the view. With a wrought iron king-size bed in the bedroom and an extra study area, there’s plenty of room for two. And if the sun doesn’t shine, it doesn’t matter at all. You can either watch storms pass, a strangely addictive experience, or chill out on the sofa with books, music or movies.
