The octagon is a naturally efficient geometric shape, and in this case, it makes for quite an interesting – if not also efficient – home design. The different spaces of the octagonal house flow together nicely in a simplistic and pleasing fashion. It defies the traditional use of rectangular rooms, and yet accomplishes its purpose in being a welcoming and unique home environment. Privacy is maintained in the shower and wash room area, while only taking a minimum amount of space from the overall octagon. Take a look at the photos below, and let us know what you think!
This hidden gem of a home is located in the Netherlands and it’s dubbed “The Forest House” because of its thick wooded surroundings that include a lush natural pond nearby. Despite the private setting, the home is just a few minutes away from the nearest town so you aren’t completely removed from civilization.
