Each Child Has His Own House!
Who says having a tiny home should only be for just one family? This family in London, Kentucky, actually built a village of tiny homes where each family member can live in. This family village located in a 21-acre piece of land has a total of 6 tiny homes measuring from 64 to 280 sq. ft. The piece of land itself was bought for $50,000, while the construction of cabins cost a total of $20,000.
Despite this new and marketable concept, the family who owns the place does not plan on renting it out. The largest of the cabins is where the parents live. It has complete amenities including a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. The kids each live in their own 160 sq. ft. home. However, these are only meant to serve as their sleeping quarters since their bathrooms are in a separate cabin. Meanwhile, two of the cabins are made to be an office and a recreation and pool house for the family.
According to the owners, this set up allows for privacy as well as a more sustainable and eco-friendly way of living.
Keli told Insider that her family chose this living arrangement to live a more sustainable lifestyle. These tiny houses conserve energy, as smaller spaces are easier to heat and cool. She also mentions that family is very adamant on following the rules of RRRR (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle), and between the four of them, only produce one bag of trash per week.
