HIDDEN WITHIN THIS HOME’S WALLS IS A RECYCLABLE SECRET

HERE’S A PRACTICAL SOLUTION TO OUR EVER-GROWING PLASTIC BOTTLE WASTE
Yes, you heard us right! Canadian entrepreneur Robert Bezeau took it upon himself to do something about our plastic waste, specifically plastic bottles. And what better way to get some sort of use out of the stubborn little things than by using them as construction materials?
It is on an island in Bocas del Toro, Panama where he began working on the Plastic Bottle Village. The construction of the homes might just look like someone stacked a bunch of bottles into the shape of a house, but once finished they look just like any other ordinary home.
It would take around 14,000 bottles to build a 1,076 square foot home. So if you were to buy a piece of land on the island—which would cost $19,000—and have the architects build you a plastic bottle home, you are not only going to own a new vacation home in Bocas del Toro but you will also contribute to the whole recycling project at the same time.
How’s that for an eco-friendly solution?
In his public message, Robert states:
“I want the world to realize that we can reuse plastic bottles in many other applications such as:
1. Home insulation
2. Rapid temporary shelters after disasters
3. Buildings for animal’s on farms
4. Building swimming pools
5. Water catchment tanks
6. Septic tanks
7. Agriculture waterways (land drainage)
8. Commercial warehouse construction
9. Barns
10. Roads”
