IT’S A TREEHOUSE, BUT NOT REALLY!

This House Is A Contemporary Take On A Tree

In the midst of a Cape Town forest lies this unique cylindrical structure. The structure is made up of four cylinders that rest on a square base elevated on stilts. If this seems unusual, it’s because the house takes inspiration from a contemporary image of a tree. The long vertical cylinders mimic the shape and aesthetics of tree trunks making it seem like it’s a treehouse, but not quite!

Inside, structural columns that resemble tree branches support the levels inside. Floor-to-ceiling windows give guests an all-around view of the surroundings outside. The interiors are designed with a minimalist theme and makes use of untreated red cedar wood and Corten steel. The cabin has a spacious living room, eating area and kitchen on the first floor and a master’s bedroom on the second floor. The third floor is reserved as a spacious roof deck.

The entire cabin is geometrically unique and is almost like a joyous game being played between the shapes – square and circle! It’s a warm, private and open space, situated in an exotic location, making it the perfect vacation destination.
