It has good views too!
On a hillside overlooking the cities of Molde and Moldefjord in Norway stands this four-storey wooden structure called Zieglers Nest. Designed by famed architects, this home is an ode to the traditional log cabin but with a modern design on both the inside and the outside.
Everything in the house is made up of wood such as timbers for its main structure and oak for its floors. The house is made tall and slim in order to limit its footprint and to lessen the use of concrete. It was also designed to be able to maximize its strategic location such as having good views on one side, complete privacy from neighbors, and a sheltered garden.
The home has three bedrooms, a library, living room, dining room, kitchen, and conservatory. It is currently not for sale.
“The rooms are arranged by the view and daylight and at the same time their cleanliness or dirtiness,” explained Auger. “Dirtiest rooms at the bottom and the cleanest at the top,” he continued. “House inhabitants find their natural place in this arrangement according to age, mood and time of year.”
