Norwegian Longhouse with Green Roof

See the Long Linear Fire Running Down the Center?

The history of log cabins in different places around the world never ceases to amaze me.  Here’s an example from Norway. If you look closely, you’ll see a long linear fireplace running through the center of it.

Th[is] cabin is the lunch time destination for a longboat river tour across brown bear country. The cabin was designed by Trine Beddari and built by her husband Tor who together run their family husky company. The [Norwegian] Longhouse [cabin style] has a cosy atmosphere where up to 40 people get to sit around one of the two long open fires … [that fill] the silence between conversations without anyone feeling awkward.
