Burrowed within the secluded and peaceful mountain range of Brightwood, Oregon is Pinery – a quiet solitary vintage cabin from the 1930’s. Sitting along a trail to the Sandy River and about an hour drive from Portland, the 800sq ft. cabin is an incredibly cozy and well-equipped private retreat for small families or groups of 4. The interior is a unique single volume space with two bedrooms on the upper loft, linked by a narrow path across that overlooks the main living space below, and a larger bedroom on the ground floor. The lovely stone fireplace is centerpiece in the main living area, and fills the entire space with warm tranquil air on cold winter nights. The exposed pine trunks and branch beams of the elevated loft coupled with the adorable quirky details on the open stairs emit a magical trance, as if living in the classic tale of the Golilocks and the Three Bears. The Pinery is available for booking on airbnb. Enjoy a blissful night of reading Carl Hiaasen novels while popping popcorn or toasting marshmallow in the fireplace during your stay!
