RAINFOREST RETREAT IN QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Here’s A Sustainable Yurt-Style Home in the Daintree Rainforest
M3 Architecture designed this off-the-grid unique dwelling in Cape Tribulation, smack in the middle of the Daintree Rainforest and close to the Great Barrier Reef. Standing on a 5 acre property, the exterior is nondescript, it does not want to take too much attention away from the surrounding flora.
You will be welcomed by a wooden pathway that leads to the house, and it’s completed with a covered deck. The floor to ceiling windows in the living area looks out to a beautiful view and it will make you feel like you are a part of the jungle forest.
The home is powered by solar and is equipped with a water pump that has a potable water source.
We will let the photos do the talking – see below for a photo tour of the Cape Tribulation House!
“On approach, the interior of the house becomes apparent: a light space clad with plywood, a counterpoint to the otherwise cool, dark green surrounding forest,” the architects said. “Tall, south-facing windows and a dark blue ceiling is used to draw in the rainforest canopy.”
