Cutting-Edge Modern Design Meets 200-year-old Craftsmanship

Luxury Self-Catering Accommodation with a Difference
This secluded getaway is the aftermath of an ingenious refashion of a Napolenic fort from the 1800s. The meticulous renovation took almost a decade to complete.
An occasion house with a capital ‘O’, this imposing Martello tower in Bawdsey comprises almost a million bricks wrapped around one huge central brick shaft, inviting guests to kick back over three floors of contemporary living spaces. Entering on the first floor, guests are welcomed into a circular snug area laid with shaggy rugs and stacked with logs for stoking up the fire.
Sited on the shores of the Suffolk coastline, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide magnificent views of the surrounding wild shingle. A spiral staircase leads you to the tower’s sleeping room below with two sharply chic bathrooms, and up on the roof terrace are a firebowl and a Morroccan-style seating that overlooks the ocean with a million stars as backdrop.
A beauty like no other, this paradise deserves to be experienced at least once in a lifetime.
