THE HOUSE THAT CHANGES WITH THE SEASONS

THIS HOUSE WAS MADE TO ADAPT ACCORDINGLY TO THE NEED OF THE OWNERS
The Hamra studio residence is a multi-functional home located on the Swedish island of Gotland. It’s designed to act as both a comfortable home and a productive workspace.
During the winter, the home is mainly a cozy private space for the owners. During the warmer seasons, it expands to become a space of artistic expression and performances.
The tiny home is also designed to be environmentally friendly. The large windows provide free-flowing air for natural ventilation. The house’s smart and flexible design wins it Sweden’s oldest and most prestigious architecture award.
“The brief was to make a house that can do several things…to create a house with very little boundaries and infinite possibilities,” says French architecture and landscape firm Collectif Encore.
