THE WEEK’NDER ENDS YOUR HOUSE-RELATED CONSTRUCTION INCONVENIENCES

Convenient and Cost-Effective Installation Of Homes In Otherwise Difficult And Almost Unreachable Places

Have you always wanted a home in a beautiful and serene location, but due to a lot of such locations being out of reach or just plain difficult to reach for construction teams it would either be impossible or just too expensive to continue with such a project. Well, luckily there was a housing project on a Lake Superior island in Wisconsin which proves that installing homes in such locations need not be inconvenient or costly.

The Week’nder is a 1,603-square foot cabin that was prefabricated off-site with many needed facilities such as heating, plumbing, and electrical supply already pre-installed to minimize work on the site. All that was needed was to transport the cabin onto the site on the island itself. The dimensions of the cabin depended on the ferry since the only way to access the island was via ferry. Another thing to note was the use of elevated posts which minimized the need for a foundation, plus the use of bottle jacks eliminated the need for a crane which further reduced costs and increased convenience of installing the home on the island.

Now the cabin itself is a beautiful home; with spacious interiors and light colors for a bright mood. Wide windows allow for a generous helping of natural light and picture-perfect views of the outside. Vaulted ceilings add to the already wide living space.

“We wanted one to be sensitized to the natural world over the course of a multi-day stay, just as one is when they’re camping, and let that set the tone and cadence of waking up to the sunrise, seeking shade mid-day, shifting to cocktails and sharing food as the western sun spreads its colors, and finally, tucking into bed as darkness falls,” the firm continues.
