THIS HOUSE SITS WHERE THE ROAD AND THE RIVER MEET

It Has A Unique Layout And An Even More Unique Structure
At the intersection of a river and a road in Horinouchi, West Tokyo, Japan lies this unique structure. At first glance, it may seem like an unusual two-storey edifice but it’s actually a modern family home with a unique structure. For one, the second floor protrudes further out than the first floor creating a partial roof for a small garage.
The house incorporates a unique triangular layout with the master’s bedroom at the first level and the entertainment and lounging areas at the second. There is also an additional loft for extra space. The second level is further divided into small areas to compartmentalize each room. Almost all corners of the house are filled with windows or sunroofs that look out to the river. Modern contemporary furniture fills the house and creates a minimalist aesthetic against the house’s plain blank white walls.
This home currently houses a small family and is not on the market.
The building is the form that cut an acute angle part on a triangle plan derived from the site. Furthermore,it got the maximum volume of hip roof of three planes in restriction of setback-line.
