Why Chose Between Traditional and Modern When You Can Have Both!
Building a new, modern house next to something old and traditional sounds very unusual and not many want to take on this challenge. But this Canada-based architecture firm took this opportunity to show off their skill. Their ‘new and improved’ house has two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a really great living space. The roof of the new house is one of the best features which allowed it to fit in with the landscape and the old house, making a beautiful mixture of old and new!
Because it would have been very expensive to renovate the house, the architect decided to opt for a new construction instead. The existing dwelling would remain standing as the “big sister” bearing witness to the history of the place. It would become a bunkhouse for guests.
