Which of These Cabins Is Your Favorite?
The Big Sur Cabin was designed and built by Kipp Stewart, it’s original owner. Since then it was under different homeowners that have made several (careful) updates to the kitchen, bathroom, and lighting. An earth toned theme with ceramics, simple linens, various works of art, and accent pieces adorn this wonderful abode. This place has a relaxed and informal atmosphere, yet remains a stylish, slick, and very classy weekend home.
The Big Sur Barn is a re-purposed barn ideal for large social gatherings. Relocated from the mid-West and refurbished, this barn contains all of it’s original structures, with the addition of new sidings, windows, and finishes. None of the original construction materials were put to waste as the remaining scrap was reclaimed and reused for trim and interior doors, cabinets, and accents. Rustic and full of charm, this spacious barn place is perfect for families and groups looking for a wide common area for a California retreat.
The Dani Ridge is a home built right into the earth, in a grassland located on the West Coast. The house cuts into a narrow slice of the landscape, concealed with a green roof extending over the curved roof of the living room. Most of the utilities, including a 5,000 gallon water tank is hidden beneath the ground to minimize any disturbance or eyesores to the lush landscape. Stone walls and fine woodwork perfectly accent the site’s natural greenery. Glass windows surrounding the house let in a lot of natural light, and provide you with a breathtaking view of the coastline.
