UNIQUE CABIN THAT’S GOOD FOR THE SOUL

Meet La Invernada… Bright and Wonderful

Built to become interconnected with its surrounding nature, this contemporary cabin in Curicó, Chile takes things one step further. Aside from being environmentally-friendly, the cabin is also transparent, making a seamless indoor-outdoor transition. This enables the cabin to project the outdoor forestries inside the home during the day. Meanwhile at night, a soft glow indoors illuminates the forest around it.

The cabin is made of local Chilean pinewood and is enveloped by a transparent polycarbonate and a fabric mesh. The mesh serves as a protection against storms and the blazing sun. The cabin is spacious and is complete with amenities such as an open kitchen, wood-burning stove, outdoor tub and lots of storage. It has one bedroom and one bathroom. There are also additional reading nooks or chill areas on the second and third levels.

“Transparency plays with this impermanence as it reflects the projected shadows of the forest on its skin and the movements of it during the day.”
