If you haven’t heard of this place before, tune in now because it’s definitely a spot in the world worth knowing about! Kandovan is a historic village in the East Azerbaijan Province of Iran where for about seven centuries, the inhabitants lived in this large community of cave homes. Excavated from volcanic rock formations, the troglodyte homes are actually still inhabited today, as a matter of fact. The population was counted at about 600 inhabitants as of a decade ago.
